Who are we?

We're a team of curious people who care about what our planet is going to look like for our kids, and their kids. 

Utlising our own web application, and led by a graduate of the CISL 'Business Sustainability Management' programme, we're well placed to run a value content programme to help companies and organisations find the impact information and contacts they need to accelerate business decarbonisation.

What's in a name?

Clean = absolute minimum carbon emissions + healthy ecosystems

In terms of emissions, we realise that it's aspirational because the world can't transition overnight, but that has to be the target.

In terms of healthy ecosystems, which help to remove emissions, we can't continue to function without them.

Market = a means by which the exchange of goods and services takes place as a result of buyers and sellers being in contact

In this case the buyers are looking to switch demand to low carbon goods and services, and the sellers are verified as measuring and reducing their carbon emissions.

What is Clean Market?

Two things:

  • A platform hosting verified data to help companies and organisations easily find the information, tools and partners to decarbonise their operations and value chain
  • A platform promoting low carbon companies and organisations, their products, and services

Clean Market is for all companies and organisations of all sizes, across all sectors, and all geographies, looking to decarbonise operations, optimise supply chains, develop resilience and create impact:

    Decision makers concerned with the impact of their business, including all job titles - because the sustainability of business is everyone's responsibility
  • Our customers:
    Low-emission companies, impact advisers, impact solutions, impact educators, and innovators who are helping to grow the clean economy.

Clean Market is a clean economy ecosystem of purpose focused companies and organisations working together for progress.

How it works

Our proprietary software is engineered for content management, data management and audience engagement, to facilitate market growth.

We identify and publish company information for all businesses who can be verified as measuring and reducing carbon emissions from publicly available data, or where an application to list a company or organisation can evidence their carbon reduction progress.

Data that we have identified and listed may be minimal - typically company name and country - and if free.

Contact information can be updated by the company to include contact details and a business category for a nominal fee using this form.

More detailed profile content indicates that a company has opted to build out their profile by upgrading to a Standard or Premium listing package. These packages can be requested from the outset, or upgraded from within the company website account.

Website visitors can create an account, search and filter relevant content, organise their favourites and engage with listed companies.

With every profile verfied evidence, Clean Market is built for purpose.

Decarbonisation isn’t a side project — it’s the future of business - and early movers will be the best placed to win business, recruit the best people, attract investment, innovate, and develop resilience.

There is a wealth of data available to businesses and organisations who are focused on impact, but cross referencing the data is a challenge. Clean Market aims to solve this challenge by presenting data from all sources in one place to save our website visitors' time. And if we can help save time, there will be more time for business to create impact.

For the many companies and organisations who are already decarbonising, there isn't a platform to promote them all together. We are providing a platform to do just that, to increase ttheir visibility to support their growth.

Why join as a website visitor?

With a website visitor account you can save your favourite content - companies, products and services - so that it can accessed on any device, anytime. You can also connect with listed organisations of interest using our private messaging system.

You can also browse useful reference content including recommened pods, film & video, upcoming events, and purchase recommended reading from our bookshop partner Bookshop.org

Lastly, information about your organisation, interests and decarbonisation journey, will help us evolve Clean Market to deliver more value for all stakeholders.

How do you use my data?

When you regsister for a website visitor account we ask for some basic information such as your name, contact information, and content interests.

If you opt-in to receive Clean Market email updates - relevant new content, new features, etc.

If you opt-in to email communications from 3rd parties - typically Clean Market partners or listed companies who match your defined interests - these communications will be managed internally and sent blind (we do not share your data).

Once regsitered, we provide an Impact Questionnaire in your account area which is optional. Data collected will also be treated as anonymous, but will give us some market insight. We may then produce anonymous reports to illustrate our visitor demographics and interests, for both commercial illustrations, and potential Clean Market product enhancements.

Lastly, there is a private messaging system within Clean Market which allows website visitors to connect with companies and organisations listed on the platform. Messaging can only be initiated by the website visitor (you).

Why is the website quite bland?

Two reasons:

  • Firstly, adding pictures, video and animations to make Clean Market more visually appealing would increase our carbon footprint - we're currently cleaner than 93% of websites tested by Website Carbon.
  • Secondly, it's not about us. We would rather that our customer and partner content stands out.
